DT Scenarios

March 14th, 2010 | by onejayhawk |

Is it possible for either Ndamukong Suh orĀ Gerald McCoy to drop to the Chiefs at #5? Was it possible for Dorsey to drop to the Chiefs at #5? Of course it is. The questions are how, and what to do if it happens.

1) The 2 QB scenario: St Louis and Washington take QBs, in either order. Detroit takes Russell Okung to protect Stafford. TB can only take one DT.

2) The Berry Best scenario: St Louis takes a QB, either Detroit or Washington takes Eric Berry, and the other takes Okung. TB can only take one DT.

3) The Dark horse scenario: Any of the top four teams falls in love with someone else: Jason Pierre-Paul, Derrick Morgan, Bruce Campbell, Dez Bryant. Berry and Okung are also selected.

In the not so distant past, Suh and McCoy were the clear #1 and #2. Okung and Berry were outstanding at the Combine, and Bruce Campbell was Brilliant. Plus the QBs have done well in interviews. By draft day it is possible, though not yet probable, that either Suh or McCoy will be available, which leads to the question, what to do?

For that, see the next post.

Suh is way to good to fall to #5 that would be a crime if chiefs got him.

It all depends on St Louis and Washington. If one or both go for QBs, it will probably happen.

Bear in mind that the DEs in the pool can also join the party. At this point, a few years ago, Reggie Bush was the obvious #1, and the first DE was projected #9 to Green Bay.
